Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a law to abolish the "Crimea" free economic zone, according to the parliament's website.

Bill No. 505502-d "On repealing the law of Ukraine 'On the creation of the 'Crimea' free economic zone and the peculiarities of economic activity in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine' and on the introduction of amendments to some legal acts of Ukraine" was returned to the parliament with the president's signature on August 19.

The document amends the laws "On ensuring rights and freedoms and the legal regime in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine," "On notaries," "On free legal aid," "On state lotteries in Ukraine."

It abolishes the regime of the "Crimea" free economic zone in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and establishes the peculiarities of economic relations in the temporarily occupied territory, taking into account the restrictions caused by the occupation and the requirements of international partners.

In addition, the document regulates the procedure for entry into and exit from the temporarily occupied territory, enshrines the right to free secondary legal aid for citizens of Ukraine living in the temporarily occupied territory, and ensures the exercise of inheritance rights for such persons.
