Agrarian Ministry, KPI sign memo on digital transformation
The memo was inked during the X Festival of Innovative Projects, Sikorsky Challenge 2021: Ukraine and the World, Ukrinform reports referring to the ministry’s press service.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy notes that today in Ukraine there is a great demand for digital transformation in the agricultural sector. The first thing is creating digital duplicates of agricultural enterprises and business processes, analytical systems using artificial intelligence for planning, analysis, forecasting solutions based on data synthesis from fields, local weather stations, satellite data, and market analysis.
The next stage is creating innovative ecosystems.
"Such ecosystems are already evolving. We in Ukraine are creating a DAR platform, a single digital platform for cooperation between government and agribusinesses, "said Taras Dzioba, Deputy Minister for Agrarian Policy for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitization.
Every year, the Sikorsky Challenge sees about 200 innovative startup projects showcased. This year the festival was marked by a record number of applications that has reached 320.
A total of 130 startup projects were selected in six nominations for the final round of the competition. The winners in the Agricultural Engineering nomination were the following projects:
Best business model: “Mr.Seaweed. Organic growth stimulator for seaweed plants of the Sea of Azov” project;
Best idea: “Automated laser irradiator for poultry eggs” project;
Best startup solution for addressing client's issues: “Production of new-generation humic-organo-mineral fertilizers” project;
Best technology solution: “IPoliv Information and Telecommunication Irrigation Monitoring and Management System” project.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the tenth festival of innovative projects, Sikorsky Challenge 2021: Ukraine and the World, was held in Kyiv August 12-14, 2021.
