Ukraine has already received USD 40 million in revenue from the tourist flow from Arab countries, according to Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko.

He said this at the All-Ukrainian Forum "Ukraine 30. Image of Ukraine" on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Thanks to the presidential decree, citizens of six Arab countries were given the opportunity to come to Ukraine without a visa ... In just six months, three times more people came here than in the entire last year ... Tourists from Saudi Arabia spend about 3,000 [dollars] per person per trip, which means we get an income of USD 40 million in six months. This is just the beginning, which shows the opportunities that exist in our country," Tkachenko said.

He added that there are already 14 flights a week from Arab countries.

As reported, in June, Saudi Arabia’s low-cost airline Flynas launched direct flights on the Kyiv-Riyadh route and announced flights from Jeddah to Kyiv and from Riyadh to Lviv. Taking into account the new directions, the total number of direct routes between Ukraine and Saudi Arabia will reach five.
