Share of NPLs in Ukrainian banks decreased

The share of non-performing loans (NPLs) in the Ukrainian banking sector decreased to 37.9% as of June 1 compared with 39.6% as of May 1, the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) wrote on its Telegram channel.

"The share of non-performing loans (NPLs) in the banking sector decreased to 37.9% as of June 1 against 39.6% as of May 1. Since the start of the year, the decrease of NPL share totaled 3.2 p.p. and took place in banks of all groups,” reads the report.

As reported, in the first quarter of 2021, lending to businesses and individuals continued to grow, and banks reduced the share of NPLs to 39.9%. Two years ago, the NPLs exceeded 50%.
