Zelensky announces meeting of Ukraine-Georgia commission on economic cooperation in Sept

The Commission’s main task is to intensify trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, Zelensky said at a joint press conference with President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili in Kyiv on Wednesday.

“I am sure that despite the coronavirus pandemic, we will intensify trade and economic cooperation this year, consolidating the positive trends of the beginning of this year, when our turnover grew by almost 25%. This will be one of the main tasks of the Ukraine-Georgia Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation. We strive to resume its activities and hold the next 10th meeting this September," Zelensky said.

The president stressed that Georgia is an important trade partner of Ukraine in the South Caucasus region.

As Ukrinform reported, President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili is on an official visit to Ukraine on June 23. In addition to talks with President Volodymyr Zelensky, she will also meet with Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and Verkhovna Rada Chairman Dmytro Razumkov.
