Only millet prices decreased among grocery products over past year
Since April 2020, buckwheat has risen in price by 15.8%, to UAH 41.02 per kg on average; rice has grown in price by 13.7%, to UAH 26.61 per kg, semolina - by 28.9%, to UAH 17.65 per kg, peeled barley – by 31.2%, to UAH 15.13 per kg. Compared to March 2020, only millet fell in price - by 16.0%, to UAH 18.42 per kg.
In April 2021, the average price of high-grade wheat bread totalled UAH 29.51 per 1 kg (up 20.9% from April 2020); first-grade wheat bread - UAH 23.50 per 1 kg (up 18.3%); rye and rye-wheat bread - UAH 24.48 per 1 kg (up 16.7%); French bread - UAH 16.11 per 0.5 kg (up 14.5%).
Over the reporting period, pasta from soft wheat flour rose in price by 23.4%, up to an average of UAH 23.25 per kg; wheat flour - by 24.9%, up to UAH 14.49 per kg; sugar - by 68.1%, up to UAH 25.63 per kg, sunflower oil - by 68.8%, up to UAH 58.05 per 1 liter.
As reported by Ukrinform, in April 2021, consumer prices in Ukraine grew by 0.7% compared to March 2021, and by 8.4% compared to April 2020. In general, consumer inflation in January-April 2021 was 7.6% compared to the same period in 2020.
