Ukraine’s public debt decreased by UAH 38B in March

The total public and publicly guaranteed debt of Ukraine decreased by UAH 38.68 billion in the hryvnia equivalent over March 2021, to UAH 2.514 trillion, Ukrinform reports with reference to the press service of the Finance Ministry.

As of the end of March 2021, the total public and publicly guaranteed debt of Ukraine amounted to UAH 2,514.28 billion in the national currency equivalent ($90.17 billion in the foreign currency equivalent).

Compared to the previous month, the public and publicly guaranteed debt of Ukraine decreased by UAH 38.68 billion in the hryvnia equivalent and by $1.24 billion in the foreign currency equivalent. In particular, the public debt decreased by UAH 28.91 billion in the hryvnia equivalent ($906.4 million), publicly guaranteed debt decreased by UAH 9.77 billion ($33.4 million).

As of the end of March 2021, the share of public debt in the hryvnia equivalent increased to 39.8%.

In March 2021, the Finance Ministry held 29 auctions for the placement of domestic government bonds and raised UAH 44.4 billion to the state budget
