Ministry of Strategic Industries publishes draft scientific and technical space program of Ukraine

"The purpose of the program is to ensure the effective use of space potential and increase its impact on addressing pressing issues of social and economic, environmental, informational, scientific and educational development of society, ensure interests of the state in national security and defense," reads the report.

According to the ministry, state support of the space sector of the national economy in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On Space Activities" and the National Security Strategy of Ukraine requires an optimal balance between sources of funding from the state budget and other sources (investment and innovation funds, own funds of companies).

The measures of the program will create conditions for the realization of state interests at the national and international levels and help achieve economic efficiency from space activities by developing their own competencies in strategically important areas, attracting private companies and international investment with financial support from the state.

The draft National Target Scientific and Technical Space Program of Ukraine for 2021-2025 has been published on the ministry’s website.

As Ukrinform reported, in January 2021, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a concept of the National Target Scientific and Technical Program of Ukraine for 2021-2025.
