Law on financial support to entrepreneurs during quarantine comes into force

The law on providing one-time financial assistance in the amount of UAH 8,000 to entrepreneurs affected by quarantine restrictions has officially come into force in Ukraine today, April 9.

According to Ukrinform, the Law "On assistance to insured persons for the period of restrictive anti-epidemic measures introduced to prevent the spread of acute respiratory disease COVID-19 caused by SARS-CoV-2” was published in the official parliamentary newspaper Holos Ukrainy on April 8. The law comes into effect the next day after the date of its publication.

The law provides for one-time financial assistance in the amount of UAH 8,000 to insured persons who are employees of economic entities registered in the regions included in the red quarantine zone. In addition, individual entrepreneurs and employees of enterprises can count on assistance from local authorities in the amount to be determined by local governments.

As reported, on March 30, 2021, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the presidential law on financial support to entrepreneurs affected by quarantine restrictions. President Volodymyr Zelensky signed the law on April 6.
