Ukrainian market of electric vehicles decreased by 1% in Q1 2021

In January-March 2021, 1.7 thousand electric vehicles were registered in Ukraine, which is 1% less than in the same period last year, according to the Ukrainian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (UkrAutoProm).

In particular, in March 2021, 660 electric vehicles were purchased in Ukraine, which is 61% more than in March 2020. The number of electric cars registered in March 2021, compared to March 2020, increased by 62% to 627 units, and commercial electric vehicles - by 43%, to 33 units.

In March 2021, the share of used imported cars among electric cars was 90%, compared with 86% in March 2020.

The most popular electric car model on the Ukrainian market was Nissan Leaf. In March 2021, 151 Nissan Leaf cars were purchased in Ukraine.

The top five most popular cars with zero emissions registered in Ukraine in March 2021 also included Tesla Model 3 – 66 units; Tesla Model S – 43 units; Renault Kangoo Z.E – 29 units.

As reported by Ukrinform, in 2020, 7,455 electric vehicles were registered in Ukraine, which is 1% less than in the previous year.
