Average salary in Ukraine grows by almost 16%

In February 2021, the average nominal salary in Ukraine amounted to UAH 12,549, which is 15.7% higher compared with February 2020, according to the State Statistics Service.

The average nominal salary of Ukrainians in February 2021 was 2.1 times higher than the minimum wage (UAH 6,000). Compared to January 2021, the average nominal wage rose by 1.7%.

The highest average nominal salaries in February were recorded in the information and telecommunications sector UAH 23,001 (up 23.3% from February 2020), in the financial and insurance sector – UAH 22,319 (up 3.3%), in the sector of professional, scientific and technical activities – UAH 17,550 (up 11.4%).

The lowest average nominal salaries in February were recorded in the temporary accommodation and catering sector - UAH 7,892 (up 6.5% from February 2020), in agriculture, forestry and fisheries – UAH 9,596 (up 14.4%), construction - UAH 9,845 (up 6.1%).

As reported, according to the State Statistics Service, the average nominal salary in Ukraine in February 2020 was UAH 10,847, which is up 15.0% from February 2019.
