Kryklii: No reduction in quotas for international road transport permits this year
At a meeting with the European Business Association (EBA) on March 25, Kryklii told the business about the active negotiations of the Ukrainian side with the EU countries, which are conducted in the context of the shortage of international road transport permits. Thus, the Ministry drew the attention of the European Commission to Poland’s unilateral reduction of road transport quotas for Ukrainians, Ukrinform reports with reference to the EBA press service.
“In recent years, Poland has reduced the number of permits for Ukrainian carriers from 200 thousand to 160 thousand, and in 2021 plans another reduction to 140 thousand. However, the Minister assured that this year the reduction of quotas will not happen for any of the countries,” reads the report.
Kryklii also added the importance of introducing free transit with EU countries without the need for any permits and restrictions.
As reported by Ukrinform, on June 3, 2020, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine launched a pilot project to obtain e-permits for international freight transportation through the electronic services transport portal.
