Close and effective cooperation between the Ukrainian government and the business community is necessary to build an independent and economically strong Ukraine, Head of the Ukrainian President’s Office Andriy Yermak has stated at a meeting with representatives of international business associations.

"We are in the same team. We are moving in one direction, and we have the same goals - for Ukraine to be successful and for us to be able to talk about our achievements and victories," Yermak said, Ukrinform reports with reference to the press service of the President’s Office.

Yermak stressed the importance of involving business representatives in various areas of activities of the state and the President. In particular, this concerns the organization and an economic component of international visits of the President so that to make such visits even more effective.

The Head of the President’s Office also stressed the importance of the business community's assessment of the work of Ukraine's missions abroad, as the President set the task of strengthening the economic component of the diplomats' activities. "Economic issues, the issues of development of relations, investments are a priority for us today," Yermak said.

During the meeting, representatives of business associations were informed about the latest initiatives and proposals aimed at improving working conditions for business. In particular, Yermak told about measures to support small and micro businesses in the context of tightening quarantine restrictions, commitment to the NBU's independence, willingness to continue cooperation with the International Monetary Fund, expanding the scope of non-cash payments, de-shadowing the economy and deregulation.

In this context, the participants in the meeting discussed the movement towards the digitalization of processes, the development of the IT industry and the project "Diia.City", as well as the importance of continuing the fight against corruption.

In addition, business representative discussed the modernization of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, negotiations on the so-called industrial visa-free travel. "Among other things, due to the participation of business representatives, the updated document will envisage those areas that have not been previously included in the list," the press service reports.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy Anastasia Radina, Deputy Head of the President’s Office for Economic Policy Yulia Svyrydenko, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine (ACC) Andy Hunder, Horizon Capital's Founding Partner and CEO Olena Koszarny, CEO of Dragon Capital Tomas Fiala, President of CEO Club Ukraine Serhii Haidaichuk and others.
