Ukraine’s egg production decreased by 16% - State Statistics Service

In January-February 2021, Ukraine’s production of eggs declined by 16.1%, to 2.03 billion eggs, according to the press service of the State Statistics Service.

In particular, Ukraine’s egg production amounted to 2.03 billion, including 1.24 billion eggs produced by agricultural enterprises (down 23.4% from last year) and 783.8 million by private households (down 1.0%).

The highest amount of egg production over the reporting period was recorded in Kyiv region – 522.5 million eggs (down 9.1% from last year); Khmelnytskyi region – 122.5 million (down 2.2%) and Cherkasy region – 120.3 million (down 35.8%).

The lowest amount of egg production over the reporting period was recorded in Luhansk region – 10.8 million eggs (down 5.9% from last year); Odesa region – 15.8 million (down 21.8%), and Volyn region – 16.2 million (down 2.5%).

As reported, according to data provided by the State Statistics Service, Ukraine’s egg production totalled 2.41 billion eggs between January-February 2020, which is 6.6% more than in the same period last year.
