NBU provides refinancing to 13 banks for UAH 2.6B

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) provided a total of UAH 2.58 billion in refinancing to 13 banks, the central bank’s press service reported.

On March 12, quantitative tenders were held for the refinancing of banks. In particular, the application one bank for refinancing for up to 84 days for the total amount of UAH 100 million at an interest rate of 6.50% per annum was satisfied. The applications of 12 banks for refinancing for up to 1,820 days for the total amount of UAH 2,484 million at an interest rate 6.50% per annum were satisfied.

As Ukrinform reported, an addition to existing standard short-term refinancing instruments, the NBU introduced a mechanism for long-term refinancing for up to five years, which came into force on March 19, 2020.
