Digital Transformation Ministry, business representatives start developing virtual asset market strategy

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, together with representatives of other departments and businesses, has begun to develop a strategy for the development of virtual assets market in Ukraine, according to the ministry’s press service.

“The Ministry of Digital Transformation, together with representatives of other departments and businesses, has started to draw up a strategy for the development of the virtual assets market in Ukraine,” reads the report.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation reported that the special meeting took place on March 9, during which the participants classified the trends influencing the future of the virtual assets market and identified a number of probable scenarios for its development. As a result, it was agreed to draw up a road map for the development of a new industry.

“One of the main goals of our ministry is to create the most favorable environment for the development of the virtual assets market in Ukraine. To do this, we first of all need a roadmap for the development of a new industry and a community that will help realize ambitious plans,” said Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation for IT Development Oleksandr Borniakov.

About 70 representatives of various departments and businesses attended the event, which was supported by the Swiss Embassy in Ukraine and the Ukrainian cryptocurrency exchange Kuna.io.

According to the ministry, that is the first step towards creating the roadmap for the long-term development of the virtual asset industry in Ukraine. The experts will work on the concept of innovation development for the period up to 2031.

As Ukrinform reported, the Ministry of Digital Transformation announced the creation of a working group that will elaborate a strategy for the development of virtual assets market in Ukraine.
