The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) forecasts that remittances from migrant workers to Ukraine will amount to $13 billion in 2021, which is 8% more than in 2020, Deputy NBU Governor Yuriy Heletiy has said.

"In 2021, remittances from migrant workers are expected to grow by 8% to about $13 billion," Heletiy said at a briefing on March 4, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

He also added that the Ukrainian tourism industry is expected to resume this year.

"Imports of travel services are expected to resume to almost $6 billion, from $4.7 billion in 2020. In 2022, we expect this figure will reach pre-crisis levels," Heletiy said.

As reported, in 2020, the volume of remittances to Ukraine increased by 1.7%, or $200 million, up to $12.121 billion.
