Representatives of the UAE’s company DT World, which belongs to one the world's largest port operators DP World and specializes in trade facilitation solutions and services using the latest technologies, offer Ukraine cooperation in reforming, modernizing Ukrainian customs, simplifying, accelerating and improving its work.

This was discussed at a meeting between Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko, Head of the State Customs Service Pavlo Ryabikin, Adviser to the Head of the Office of the President Tymofiy Mylovanov and Chief Operating Officer at DT World Mahmood Al Bastaki held at the Office of the Head of State, the press service of the Head of State informs.

The COO of DT World noted that his company has experience working with customs services in more than 100 countries and offers solutions that help reform and modernize customs, improve the protection of state borders against illegal movement of goods through an automatic risk assessment system for all transactions, increase revenue, speed up the customs clearance process for traders.

"The implementation of the approaches and solutions we propose will result in an increased trade volume and national GDP growth. Ukraine can significantly improve its logistics performance index (LPI) of the World Bank, which is a reference point for investors," Mahmood Al Bastaki said.

According to him, the company is ready to offer Ukraine its best practices and help implement new approaches that will not require capital investment from the state.

"This is part of our cooperation at the level of governments, at the level of the ruler of our country and the President of Ukraine," he said.

In turn, Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov noted that the key problem of Ukraine is not IT technologies, where the country has a huge potential, but process reengineering. He asked if DT World could help with this in the framework of potential cooperation.

The Chief Operating Officer of DT World suggested organizing a team that will study the Ukrainian system, processes, conduct a comprehensive inspection, and then the Emirati company will offer the Ukrainian party a roadmap of future work.

"Indeed, the issues of legislation, process reengineering and the creation of an appropriate electronic system are very important, because it will not work without an assessment of the risk mechanism," he said.

Deputy Head of the Office of the President Yulia Svyrydenko suggested focusing on roadmap development to submit it to the leadership.

As reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky made a state visit to the United Arab Emirates on February 14-15.
