Deposits of individuals in Deposit Guarantee Fund’s banks grew by UAH 133B in 2020

“As of January 1, 2021, the total amount of deposits of individuals (including private entrepreneurs) in banks-members of the Deposit Guarantee Fund amounted to UAH 607.56 billion, which is by 28.1% or UAH 133.12 billion more than as of January 1, 2020 (UAH 474.44 billion),” reads the report

Out of the total deposits of individuals, hryvnia deposits totalled UAH 357.36 billion (up UAH 77.88 billion over the year), and deposits in foreign currency amounted to UAH 250.20 billion (up UAH 55.24 billion over the year).

Some 98.0% of the depositors have fully protected deposits (do not exceed UAH 200,000), which are subject to guarantees of the Fund. The total amount of these deposits is UAH 238.65 billion.

As of January 1, 2021, the share of private entrepreneurs in the structure of depositors was 3.3% and the total amount of their deposits - UAH 53.65 billion (8.8% of the total), which is by UAH 21.25 billion more than as of January 1, 2020.
