President's Office outlines main tasks of Ukraine's economic diplomacy
Andriy Bukvych, Director General of the Foreign Policy Directorate at the President's Office, said this during a public discussion of the draft National Economic Strategy of Ukraine until 2030 entitled "International Economic Policy and Trade, Export Credit Agency" held in Kyiv on February 2, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"If we talk about the tasks of implementing the course towards the economization of foreign policy, about the implementation of economic diplomacy, then, first of all, three main tasks have been identified, namely: increasing Ukrainian exports, attracting investments, and promoting the tourism potential of Ukraine," he said.
In addition, according to the official, the tasks of economic diplomacy are not limited to these three "main areas", there are other equally important tasks, namely: improving trade conditions for Ukrainian exporters, spreading narratives about the course of economic reforms in Ukraine, and attracting technical assistance to strengthen the capacity of Ukrainian economic institutions.
Bukvych also noted that the economic diplomacy was given a task to attract export financing on favorable terms, in particular for a sufficiently long period for imports within the framework of infrastructure and technological projects, taking into account localization requirements.
At the same time, he stressed that the Ukrainian embassies should organize their work in such a way as to contribute in every possible way to the development of Ukrainian business and its promotion to foreign markets.
