Ukraine increased imports of agricultural products by 13% in 2020

Ukrainian imports of agricultural products and food increased by 13% and amounted to USD 6.5 billion in 2020, the press service of the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club Association (UCAB) reports.

“In 2020, agricultural products remained the basis of Ukraine's foreign trade. The share of agricultural and food products in the total volume of Ukrainian exports amounted to 45%, or USD 22.2 million. At the same time, Ukrainian imports of these products reached USD 6.5 billion, which is 13% more than last year,” the report says.

As reported, in 2019, the share of agricultural products and food in the total volume of Ukrainian exports amounted to 44.3%, or USD 22.2 billion.

Compared to 2018, the volume of agricultural exports in 2019 increased by 19%, while the total export of goods from Ukraine grew by 6% over this period.

The volume of imports of agricultural products in Ukraine in 2019 was almost four times less than the volume of its exports and amounted to USD 5.7 billion. The share of imports of agricultural products and food in 2019 amounted to 9.4% of total imports and increased by 13% compared to 2018.
