Ukraine has to pay $1.6B to IMF this year - Danylyshyn
"The state's planned payments to the IMF in 2021 stand at about $1.6 billion, of which almost $1.36 billion is the repayment of the principal amount of the debt and $0.26 billion is interest payments. The need to refinance Ukraine's debt to the IMF requires the parties fulfill their commitments under the current Stand-By Arrangement, which will allow Ukraine to attract IMF financing in the amount of about $2.9 billion. This will correspond to the amount of four tranches of the loan within a respective quota, two of which were to be received in 2020," Danylyshyn wrote.
He said that taking into account payments on private sector debt (banking and corporate debt), the total amount of payments from Ukraine in favor of non-residents in 2021 will reach about $15.5 billion.
The IMF mission for the first review of the Stand-By Arrangement for Ukraine resumed its work on January 11. The work will be continued remotely.
