Ukraine’s consumer prices rose by 0.9% in Dec – State Statistics Service

In December 2020, consumer prices in Ukraine increased by 0.9% compared to the previous month, according to the Ukrainian State Statistics Service.

Consumer prices in December 2020 grew by 0.9% compared to November 2020 and by 5.0% compared to December 2019. In general, consumer prices in 2020 increased by 2.7% compared to 2019.

Core inflation in December 2020 was 0.3% compared to November 2020 and 4.2% for the year as a whole.

Among consumer goods and services, prices for natural gas (+56.3%), sugar (+47.7%) and eggs (+30.0%) rose most in December 2020 compared to December 2019.

Vegetables (-12.1%), fuel and oils (-10.5%) and footwear (-7.5%) fell in price during this period.
