More than 600,000 Ukrainians found jobs through employment centers in 2020

More than 600,000 people have been employed through employment centers since the beginning of the year, Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Ihor Petrashko has said, the ministry’s press service reports.

"Saving jobs was an important challenge for us, and we managed to maintain a stable situation in the labor market. In total, these are three areas - job preservation, employment and partial unemployment benefits, which covered about 1.5 billion people in Ukraine,” Petrashko said at a press conference.

He noted that an important decision was the introduction of partial unemployment benefits: it was possible to make payments and save jobs for about 400,000 Ukrainians. The amount of compensation totalled UAH 2.8 billion.
