The Ukrainian government is planning to pay off wage arrears to miners this week.
The government’s representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Vasyl Mokan, informed about this at a meeting of the Agenda-Setting Council on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"This week it is planned to pay off wage arrears to miners of the coal industry. Again, in line with the amendments to the state budget, which were approved by the parliament, UAH 1.4 billion is planned to be spent on these needs,” Mokan said.
According to him, the payment of wages to miners is under special control of the government.
As reported by Ukrinform, according to the amendments, the state budget provides UAH 1.4 billion for the payment of salaries to miners by the end of the year and repayment of wage arrears.
