NBU Governor Kyrylo Shevchenko stated this at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“The quarantine restrictions announced by the government for January 2021 will not have much influence on economic activity, consumer demand and thus on inflation, according to the NBU estimates. At the same time, balanced monetary and fiscal policies will not only contribute to the resumption of economic growth, but also will maintain inflation at moderate levels,” said Shevchenko.
As reported by Ukrinform, on December 9, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to strengthen quarantine measures in Ukraine. They will be in effect on January 8-24. Any entertainment, advertising, sports, cultural events will be banned during this period. All educational institutions, except for kindergartens, will be closed for vacations.
