Britain interested in cooperation with Ukraine in sphere of modern technologies

Defence Attaché of the British Embassy in Ukraine, Commodore of the Royal Navy, Tim Woods, during a meeting with officials from the Ministry of Strategic Industries stated that the United Kingdom is interested in developing cooperation with Ukraine, in particular in the field of modern technology transfer.

The Defence Attaché of the British Embassy in Ukraine also focused on the implementation of the plans provided for in the agreement on political cooperation, free trade and strategic partnership, as well as the memorandum on strengthening cooperation in the military and military-technical spheres signed in October 2020 in London. He said he supports the plans of the Ministry of Strategic Industries, and stressed that the United Kingdom stands by Ukraine in the field of carrying out reforms.

First Deputy Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine Valery Ivashchenko noted that the ministry is focused on creating common conditions for doing business for both private and state-owned defense companies, as well as promoting cooperation with foreign partners. He also thanked the United Kingdom for its assistance to Ukraine in building the security and defense sector in the face of Russian external aggression.

As reported by Ukrinform, on October 7, 2020, Minister of Defence of Ukraine Andriy Taran and Secretary of State for Defence of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Ben Wallace signed a memorandum on enhancing cooperation in the military and military-technical spheres. The memorandum envisages the attraction of funding from the UK's export credit agency in the amount of GBP 1.25 billion.
