EU shows interest in Ukraine’s extractive industry – Economy Ministry

This was discussed during the second meeting of the working group on cooperation in the extractive industry of the Ukraine-EU Industrial Dialogue, according to the press service of the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture.

“The EU side has expressed interest in the extractive industry of Ukraine, especially in the context of the list of strategic raw materials of the EU, and agreed that Ukraine can become a reliable partner in creating sustainable supply chains for raw materials and processed products,” the report says.

During the meeting, the Ukrainian side presented its position on the current state of the extractive industry, together with possible priority projects for Ukraine. The meeting participants got acquainted with the prospects for the development of the industry and changes in legislation to simplify the procedure for attracting investors.

They also discussed the status of implementation of the joint roadmap, issues of policy formation in the extractive industry, further activities in the creation of value-added chains, including the possibility of joint projects with the assistance of the European Commission, appropriate financial and investment programs.
