The Government will allocate about UAH 2 billion for aircraft construction annually, which will enable to restore full-scale production of civil aircraft and master the entire process of helicopter production.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this at a government meeting on Wednesday, November 11, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Today we will approve the concept of the state program for the development of the aviation industry until 2030 ... The program presents several options for the development of the industry, in particular, the basic option provides for state financing of the aviation industry in the amount of about UAH 2 billion annually. This will allow to restore full-scale production of civil aircraft and master the entire process of helicopter production," Shmyhal said.

He added that the volume of products sold in the event of the implementation of the program is estimated by experts at UAH 300-350 billion.

Shmyhal also noted that since 2016 not a single production aircraft has been manufactured in Ukraine. Assembly production is unprofitable, new markets are not developing, funds are not reinvested in production, and Ukrainian aircraft do not have European certification.
