Hryvnia strengthening expected this week – expert

This week the U.S. dollar exchange rate against the hryvnia is expected to decline, according to Vadym Iosub, a senior analyst at Alpari analytical company.
"This week we expect a decrease in the dollar against the hryvnia. The dollar on the interbank market may be traded at about UAH 27.9 in a week, and the cash dollar in banks may be traded at about UAH 27.9/28.1,” he said.
Over the past week, the dollar exchange rate against the hryvnia decreased by 1.1-1.7% in all segments of the foreign exchange market.
Since last Monday, the U.S. dollar exchange rate set by the NBU has declined from UAH 28.45 to UAH 28.14 (-1.1%). According to UkrDealing, demand/supply of the dollar on the interbank market, during the same period decreased from 28.61/28.63 to 28.12/28.14 (-1.7%).
