Expenditures on social protection to be raised in 2021 – Finance Ministry

Yermolychev noted that the subsistence level in 2021 will grow faster than the forecast of consumer price index. It will increase by 9.3%.

Also, UAH 67.5 billion (up UAH 6.2 billion) is provided for the payment of state social benefits and compensations in 2021, Yermolychev noted.

"There are reports about reducing funding for benefits and housing subsidies. At the same time, the 2021 budget envisages UAH 36.6 billion for the expenditures on housing and utility services, solid fuel and liquefied gas. In 2021 we plan to provide benefits and housing subsidies for almost 5 million households. These costs are calculated in accordance with the actual needs and the actual number of recipients of this state aid in 2020. At the same time, the total amount of funds allocated this year is UAH 36.4 billion,” he said.

As reported by Ukrinform, on September 15, the Verkhovna Rada received the draft law on the state budget of Ukraine for 2021, which was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
