Ukraine increases fish and crustacean exports

In January-July 2020, Ukraine’s fish and crustacean exports grew by 23.3% compared with the same period last year, up to over $18.7 million, the press service of the Ukrainian State Agency of Fisheries reports referring to data provided by the State Statistics Service.

Most exports of Ukrainian fish and crustaceans were delivered to Germany (for $4.2 million; 22% of total exports), Denmark ($3.53 million; 19%), Japan ($1.82 million), Lithuania ($ 1.63 million), Turkey ($1.18 million) and the Netherlands ($ 1.02 million).

The press service of the state agency reminded that Ukraine exported 1,415 tonnes of fresh, chilled or frozen fish fillet and other fish meat worth more than $9.1 million in January-June 2020, which is $1.4 million (19%) more than in the same period in 2019.
