Finance committee recommends VR to approve bill on Bureau of Economic Security

The committee approved a relevant decision at its meeting on September 28, Ukrinform reports referring to the VR information department.

The bill has been developed to liquidate the tax police, optimize the structure and number of bodies involved in combating crimes in the economic sphere, eliminate duplication of their functions and establish the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine so that to prevent, unveil, stop, investigate and detect criminal violations.

On September 3, the Verkhovna Rada approved bill, No.3087-d, "On the Bureau of Economic Security” at first reading.

The draft law defines the purpose, principles, legal and organizational procedures of the establishment and work of the Bureau of Economic Security as a law enforcement agency, which will be responsible for detecting, terminating, investigating and disclosing criminal offenses in the economic sector.
