The Ukrainian government may extend the program of energy efficiency loans for 2021.

Acting Energy Minister of Ukraine Olha Buslavets stated this during the 11th European-Ukrainian Energy Day, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"We have not only the Energy Efficiency Fund in the sector of energy efficiency, but also a program of energy efficiency measures, ‘warm loans’ for the population. UAH 1 billion has been invested only this year, and one third was reimbursed from the state budget," Buslavets said.

According to her, energy efficiency measures help to reduce utility bills of Ukrainians by 20-40%.

"Last week, before submitting the [draft state] budget to the Verkhovna Rada, we discussed the need to extend the state target program of ‘warm loans’ for another year. We believe that this is a very effective and socially oriented program. When reviewing the budget, we will project funds for these measures, which was supported by the Prime Minister," Buslavets said.
