Kyiv, Ankara interested in joint space projects - Urusky
"We discussed the expansion of cooperation between the countries. The Turkish side placed particularly important emphasis on the need to develop cooperation as soon as possible. For my part, I also confirmed the interest of the Ukrainian side in operational cooperation between the countries. In addition, I stressed the importance of developing technology and human resources," Urusky wrote on his Facebook page following a meeting with Minister of Industry and Technology of Turkey Mustafa Varank.
According to Urusky, during the conversation with Varank, he received important messages for Ukraine. In particular, the Turkish side at the highest level pays great attention to specific bilateral projects and is also interested not only in developing itself, but also in involving neighbors. In addition, Ankara has expressed a desire to take an active part in joint space projects. "Ukraine's experience in implementing projects to create Earth remote sensing satellites is very important for Ankara," Urusky said.
According to him, the main task for Ukraine now is to fill the friendly relations between the two countries with content and concrete contracts.
The Ukrainian delegation is on a three-day visit to Ankara and Istanbul. On August 26, Ukraine and Turkey signed a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine and the Undersecretariat for Defense Industries of Turkey. The Ukrainian delegation visited the production facilities of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) and Roketsan.
