Almost 250 km of roads to be repaired in Dnipropetrovsk region this year

“In total, there are more than 9,000 km of roads of national and local importance and 675 bridges in the region. According to the plan, 248 km of roads of national importance are planned to be built and put into operation in 2020 in Dnipropetrovsk region,” President Volodymyr Zelensky was told during a working trip to Dnipropetrovsk region, the press service of the Head of State informs.

In particular, Volodymyr Zelensky inspected the section of the M-04 Dnipro-Kryvyi Rih highway which runs 299 km in Dnipropetrovsk region.

Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Oleksandr Bondarenko told the President that the overhaul of local roads this year cost 15-20% cheaper than last year and the high quality of the road surface is ensured.

"That is, we build one kilometer of local roads cheaper compared to 2019. With funding and proper work, we can build about two and a half thousand kilometers of roads of national and local importance in these four years. It will be a completely different quality of transportation for people," Bondarenko said.

The President stressed the need to create conditions for the residents of Dnipropetrovsk region to reach the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea driving along the quality roads by the next holiday season.

"It's nice to see that Dnipropetrovsk region and city of Dnipro are being built as part of the Great Construction program," Zelensky told the media after inspecting the infrastructure of Dnipropetrovsk region.

In turn, Head of the State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) Oleksandr Kubrakov noted that apart from the main sections of the M-04 highway, which will be commissioned this year, the H-11 highway in the direction from Kryvyi Rih to the city of Dnipro will be repaired within the framework of the Great Construction national program.

The President of Ukraine also noted that many schools, kindergartens and stadiums in the region are being repaired as part of the Great Construction program and all of them will be commissioned this year.

Today, President Volodymyr Zelensky makes a working trip to Dnipropetrovsk region.
