Zelensky: About 200 km of roads to be built in Mykolaiv region this year
“I am very pleased that we see infrastructural changes in Mykolaiv region and that about 200 kilometers of roads will be constructed completely in Mykolaiv region this year. And we already see the quality. This is not just patching holes. Everything will be done at a very high level. The builders promise that it [H-14 road] will serve for 50 years,” Zelensky told journalists, the press service of the Head of State informs.
The scope of road construction and repair in Mykolaiv region is expected to increase 2.5-fold next year, the President noted.
He also added that large sums had not been allocated for road construction in this region over the past ten years.
“For some reason, politicians pay attention to the regions from which they came or in which they live. And I am very glad that Mykolaiv region is currently one of the priority regions in this matter. And that’s great,” Zelensky said.
As reported, the Great Construction national program was launched in Ukraine in March. It is expected that 4,000 kilometers of roads of national importance will be repaired within its framework, for which more than UAH 85 billion will be provided. In addition, 100 schools, 100 kindergartens, 100 stadiums are to be built or reconstructed and 100 school buses are to be purchased this year.
