Over UAH 24B already allocated to fight COVID-19 – Ukrainian Finance Ministry

UAH 24.4 billion worth of budget funds have already been allocated to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease, Ukraine's Deputy Finance Minister Roman Yermolychev has said.

According to the Finance Ministry's press service, Yermolychev said that UAH 16.9 billion had already been used from the Fund to Fight COVID-19, UAH 4.8 billion from state and local budgets, and UAH 2.7 billion had been paid by the National Health Service of Ukraine to service providers under the medical guarantees program.

"Regarding the Fund to Fight COVID-19, UAH 66 billion has been allocated from the state budget. In particular, UAH 16.3 billion has been earmarked for healthcare, UAH 10.6 billion for the social sphere, and UAH 2.5 billion for law enforcement, UAH 36 billion for economic stimulation, UAH 0.5 billion for partial recovery of state budget expenditures, and UAH 52.5 million for education," he said.

On April 22, 2020, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the procedure for using the money of the Fund to Fight COVID-19. The size of the Fund is about 65 billion UAH.
