The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has terminated an agreement with the Government of the Russian Federation on the mutual establishment of trade missions, which was in force since October 1992.

As First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzheppar posted on Facebook, such a decision was made at the Cabinet’s meeting on Monday.

"Today, at an extraordinary meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, a decision was made to terminate the agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Russian Federation on the mutual establishment of trade missions, which was in force since October 1992," Dzheppar informed.

According to the official, the agreement has lost its practical significance and does not meet the national interests of Ukraine, taking into account the Russian aggression, the occupation of Crimea and the current state of relations between the two countries. "Such a decision is a logical and consistent step taken by the Government of Ukraine," Dzheppar noted.
