Deposit Guarantee Fund pays almost UAH 27M to depositors in July

Ukraine's Deposit Guarantee Fund paid UAH 26.8 million in guaranteed compensation to depositors of insolvent banks in July 2020, the fund's press service has reported.
In total, in January-July 2020, depositors were paid UAH 135.1 million as guaranteed compensation.
As of August 1, 2020, 74 operating banks were included in the register of participants of the Deposit Guarantee Fund. At the same time, the liquidation of 50 insolvent banks is underway, and the liquidation of 45 banks has been completed.
The total amount of funds accumulated by the Deposit Guarantee Fund as of August 1, 2020 was UAH 14.458 billion.
As of August 1, 2020, the total amount of payments as part of the guaranteed compensation to depositors of banks transferred to the Deposit Guarantee Fund after the entry into force of the Law of Ukraine "On the Individuals' Deposit Guarantee System" (February 26, 2012) reached UAH 89.9 billion.
