Ukraine's trade turnover reaches $55.5B this year

According to data provided by the State Customs Service, between January-July 2020, Ukraine imported goods worth USD 28.8 billion, which is 13% less compared to the same period last year. For seven months of this year, Ukraine’s exports of goods amounted to USD 26.6 billion, which is 7% less compared to the same period last year. Accordingly, the foreign trade balance of Ukraine in January-July 2020 was negative and totaled USD 2.2 billion.

The share of EU countries in the total volume of imports of goods into Ukraine in January-July 2020 made up 43%, CIS countries - 16%. The share of EU countries in exports of goods from Ukraine in the same period was 37%, CIS countries - 13%.

The main export deliveries consisted of grain crops (18.5% of the total volume), ferrous metals (16.9%), fats and oils of animal or vegetable origin (12.8%). Among import deliveries were mineral fuel, oil and products of its distillation (15.8%), nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery, equipment and mechanical devices (10.7%), vehicles, their parts and equipment (9.6%).

As Ukrinform reported, according to the State Statistics Service, in January-May 2020, Ukraine’s exports of goods amounted to USD 19.53 billion (6.5% less compared to January-May 2019), while imports of goods was USD 20.15 billion (-14.5%). The negative balance amounted to USD 620.6 million (in January-May 2019 it was also negative and totaled almost USD 2.67 billion).
