Government allocates UAH 1.1B in state subventions for social infrastructure reconstruction

"The Government has redistributed UAH 1.1 billion in state subventions for the reconstruction of social infrastructure facilities. The funds will be transferred to local budgets for the implementation of 243 projects within the ‘Emergency Credit Program for Restoration of Ukraine’ in 2020," the Government portal informs.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal noted that the program was focused primarily on the regions that received the largest number of IDPs, so the funds will be mostly directed to local budgets in Luhansk, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk and other regions.

The Prime Minister added that the Government continued to implement the President's "Great Construction" program and created all the necessary conditions to ensure the smooth process.

The Cabinet of Ministers also approved draft orders on the allocation of land plots in Kharkiv and Poltava regions for the overhaul of the Kyiv-Kharkiv-Dovzhansky highway.

As reported, the "Great Construction" program on large-scale development of Ukraine's infrastructure was launched on March 1 and covers almost 380 facilities. It is expected that 4,000 kilometers of roads will be repaired within the program, for which more than UAH 85 billion is already provided. In addition, 100 schools, 100 kindergartens and 100 stadiums are to be built or reconstructed in Ukraine.
