Vehicle production in Ukraine down 40% in seven months - Ukravtoprom

According to the report, in the first seven months of this year, Ukraine produced 1,783 passenger cars (42% less than in the same period of 2019), 28 commercial vehicles (down 39%) and 311 buses (down 31%).

The association said that 236 vehicles were assembled in Ukraine in July 2020, down 62% from July 2019.

Car production in July shrank by 68%. As a year earlier, the only plant that operated in this segment of the domestic car industry was Eurocar. Some 172 Skoda cars were assembled at the plant in July this year.

The production of commercial vehicles in July 2020 decreased to four vehicles (84% less than in July 2019). All of them were assembled at JSC Cherkasy Bus.

At the same time, bus production grew by 11%, to 60 buses. Four enterprises manufactured buses in July 2020, in particular, JSC Cherkasy Bus (25 buses), PJSC Chernihiv Automotive Plant (24 buses), ZAZ (nine buses) and Chasiv Yar Bus Plant (two buses).

Ukraine produced 7,265 vehicles in 2019, up 10% from 2018.
