Ukraine’s exports of grains and legumes decreased by 36%

Since the beginning of the 2020/2021 marketing year (MY), which started on July 1, Ukraine exported 2.5 million tonnes of grain crops and legumes, which is 36.3% less than on the same date of  the 2019/2020 MY.

According to the informational and analytical portal of Ukraine’s agro-industrial complex, from July 1 to August 3, 2020, Ukraine exported 1.26 million tonnes of wheat (11.2% less than on the same date of the previous MY), 838 thousand tonnes of barley (12.5% less), 425 thousand tonnes of corn (3.7 times less). Exports of flour decreased by 30% to 19.1 thousand tonnes during this period.

As Ukrinform reported, according to the State Customs Service, in the 2019/2020 marketing year, Ukraine exported 57.2 million tonnes of grains, legumes and flour, which is 6.8 million tonnes more than in the 2018/2019 MY, when exports of these products amounted to 50.4 million tonnes.
