EBRD confirms support for Ukrainian reforms

Acting President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Jürgen Rigterink has confirmed support for the reform program of Ukraine and congratulated Kyiv on the signing of a loan agreement with the EU.

“Excellent discussion with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, during which we reiterated EBRD’s support for reform agenda and discussed ways to speed up our public sector engagement,” Rigterink posted on his Twitter.

He also congratulated Ukraine on the recent signing of a memorandum and a loan agreement with the European Union on receiving EUR 1.2 billion of macro-financial assistance, as well as on the successful placement of Eurobonds in Ukraine.

In May 2020, the EU approved a decision to provide Ukraine with EUR 1.2 billion of macro-financial assistance over the COVID-19 pandemic.
