Ukraine’s milk production down 3.7% - State Statistics Service

Milk production in Ukraine decreased by 3.7% between January-June 2020 compared with the same period in 2019, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

In particular, Ukraine’s milk output amounted to 4.59 million tonnes between January-June 2020, including 1.39 million tonnes produced by agricultural enterprises (down 0.7% from last year) and 3.20 million tonnes by private households (down 4.9%).

The highest volumes of milk production over the reporting period were recorded in the Poltava region - 361.3 thousand tonnes (down 3.2% from last year); Vinnytsia region - 357.9 thousand tonnes (down 4.5%), Khmelnytskyi region - 317.8 thousand tonnes (up 0.5%).

The lowest volumes of milk production over the reporting period were recorded in the Luhansk region - 53.4 thousand tonnes (down 1.7% from last year); Donetsk region - 74.6 thousand tonnes (down 12.6%); Zaporizhzhia region - 102.7 thousand tonnes (down 7.6%).

As reported, according to data provided by the State Statistics Service, Ukraine’s milk production totalled 4.78 million tonnes between January-June 2019, which is 2.8% less in the same period last year.
