Ukraine’s repayment of the public debt next year is projected at UAH 600 billion, according to preliminary estimates.

Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko stated this during an hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"The projected public debt repayment will make up about UAH 600 billion. The state's internal and external borrowings will be formed respectively," Marchenko said.

He also added that the 2020 budget deficit makes up 7.5% of GDP in 2020, but the Finance Ministry seeks to reduce this deficit.

As Ukrinform reported, Ukraine’s public debt repayment in January-June 2020 amounted to UAH 156.2 billion (99.7% of the target), service payments reached UAH 61.4 billion (89.7% of the target).
