Finance Ministry: UAH 2 bln already directed to finance regional development projects

"As of June 19, under the State Regional Development Fund, UAH 2 billion has been allocated in full, as envisaged in the state budget. At the same time, managers have disbursed only UAH 432 million of this amount," reads the statement.

According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, No.211, as of February 26, 2020, Ukraine intends to implement 461 projects, half of which are within the president’s program Great Construction.

It notes that the funds are directed to the implementation of investment programs and regional development projects that meet the priorities defined in the State Regional Development Strategy and relevant regional development strategies. Funds are also directed to projects aimed at the development of sports infrastructure, energy efficiency of state and municipal educational institutions and medical institutions, at least 10% in each of the areas.

As Ukrinform reported, the Cabinet of Ministers on May 14 approved the implementation of 461 regional development projects in 2020 for a total sum of UAH 4.87 billion from the State Regional Development Fund. The remained balance of the State Regional Development Fund, totaling about UAH 30 million, is planned to be used to finance the all-Ukrainian public budget.
