As of June 18, 2020, about UAH 36.1 billion has been already allocated from the special Fund to tackle the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19 in Ukraine.

Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko stated this during an hour of questions to the Government, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"The procedure for using funds from the Fund to tackle COVID-19 spread clearly envisages each stage of allocation and use of funds. The Fund is valid for the period of quarantine and the next 30 days after its official lifting, which is important considering risks of new outbreak. As of June 18, the government decided to allocate UAH 36.1 billion,” Marchenko said.

According to him, the government decided to envisage about UAH 9 billion for unemployment benefits, almost UAH 3 billion for the measures to prevent new outbreaks, UAH 2.5 billion for the social insurance fund. In addition, the government allocated funds to the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

As of June 18, the balance of the Fund made up about UAH 28.5 billion.

As Ukrinform reported, the government in April created the special Fund to tackle the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19, with the budget totaling UAH 64.7 billion.
