A mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) may arrive in Ukraine in July, according to Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko.

"The mission is expected to arrive in July-August, or even in July. Then we will be able talk about tranche," Marchenko told journalists, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

The minister also reminded that Ukraine plans to refuse from IMF lending within the next few years.

"Any normal country should grow, including in cooperation with the IMF. Now we need to borrow, as well as to the budget. We believe that in 2022 it will be possible not to borrow directly from the IMF to the budget," the minister said.

As Ukrinform reported, on June 10, the International Monetary Fund's executive board approved $5 billion of aid to Ukraine. On June 12, Ukraine received the first tranche worth $2.1 billion from the IMF.
